Is it possible to support SSL?

Notapor john_doe el Vie Feb 22, 2008 2:37 pm

Hey Buanzito! I've just downloaded this new crap of yours. Looks decent :p Now I have a couple of questions for your "beered-hacks0r" brain...

First of all: Is this plugin using the GUI protocol or just talking to core through web interface?
If using web interface then my requirement is viable. If not, stop reading :?

OK, I access my mldonkey web interface through SSL from another server running apache, making use of mod_proxy to do the http forwarding.
Now I wonder if there is any possibilities to make DonkeyFire support this kind of connection.
And I have also another question. Does DonkeyFire have proxy support?

Well that's all...see you around...GAY! :metal:

Hey John, I'm glad it's useful for you.

It uses MLDonkey's HTTP backend (usually, port 4080).

In Donkeyfire's Preferences, you can set the URL to either:

http://somehost:4080
or
https://somehost:4080

Problem is, current version forces to http:// :) - So, Donkeyfire WILL support https in next release (tomorrow probably). Regarding your proxy question: it uses whatever proxy Firefox (or another extension, like FoxyProxy) tells nsIWebNavigation's loadURI() to use.

Ok using it in my LAN using no proxy nor ssl it works flawlessly :D

Now, I'm at work. Here I have to use a proxy and I access MLDonkey web interface through ssl as I explained in my first post. DonkeyFire connects ok. But shows no transfer rate: 0.0 KB/s. Neither show a thing in the bar at the right. here is a capture:

Ok, my transfer rate when taking that cap was of 0.4 KB/s, but no 0.0 KB/s....
Could this be a problem of DonkeyFire?

No. It's the rate you had when that information was obtained. You can tweak the update_interval if you want quicker updates, or just "click" the Donkeyfire statusbar to get an on-demand update.
